Lodestone, also known as Magnetite, has a powerful magnetic positive-negative polarity. The ancient Chinese have earlier traditions with lodestone in which they would carve a long spoon or ladle out of lodestone and place it on a bronze plate. This would allow the spoon to move on its own, until the narrow end finally came to point south, making it the first effective compass. It was also used to navigate by Viking explorers.

In Greek mythology, it was used by Helenus of Troy as a divination tool. He foretold the Trojan war by asking the lodestone a series of questions, in which the lodestone replied by describing the downfall of the city. Helenus then betrayed Troy to Achaeans, so they could take the city using the information obtained from the stone.

It can be used in magnetic therapy, work with the body’s aura and meridians. If a body organ or meridian is overactive or sluggish, Lodestone will balance it out. Aids in telepathy, meditation, trusting intuition, and visualization.
